General Policies

WANT TO PRACTICE HERDING ?

  • In order to practice herding at Brigands, you will need to pass a written test and demonstrate your herding skills.  Check out the “Herding Levels” for a description of the what would be required.
  • Contact Nancy (nancy@BrigandsHideOut.com) if you are interested.
  • Herding practice is available (after approval) throughout the day unless the facility is closed.

MISCELLANEOUS

  • Only flat collars or regular chain collars permitted – NO Flexi-leads, prong collars, shock/electronic collars, halti collars, etc allowed on the premises.
  • Dogs must be on leash (under control) at all times unless being shown, stock handling or otherwise working. Your dog may be friendly but other dogs may not be!
  • Each person must have a signed waiver prior to participating in any event: practice, clinic, lessons, etc.
  • Any damage to the property or neighboring properties (including livestock and plants) will be charged to the individual.

PARKING

  • Parking for practice, classes and small clinics is allowed along the driveway on the east side of the barn.
  • Parking for larger events, such as herding trials is in the gravel parking lot.
  • Oversized vehicles, such as RVs and trailers need to park in the gravel parking lot.
  • Do not block any gate, openings/doors to buildings or the dumpster (dumpster is emptied on Fridays).
  • Park as close to the fence or the building as possible to keep driveways clear.

DRIVEWAYS

  • The driveways are all single lanes.
  • The driveway around the barns must be clear at all times for emergency vehicles.
  • Cars are not allowed on any grassy area (along driveways, in trial arenas, etc).
  • Drivers/cars entering the facility or heading toward the parking lot have the right-of-way. This means those exiting must back up to allow the other car to continue. Do not drive on the grass!
  • Those leaving the parking lot area must yield to cars entering which means the driver must back up to the parking lot or to the wider area near the house.
  • Any person who parks or drives on grass, pasture or lawn will be fined $50.

CLEAN-UP

  • All individuals need to pick up after their dogs.
  • There are garbage cans and pooper scoopers available throughout the facility.
  • Make sure garbage cans have liners before using.
